Birding on Quito homebase Wonderful hotel with birding grounds. Very comfortable large rooms with private baths, helpful friendly staff & great food in the pleasant dining room. We used the hacienda as a home base while birding the greater Quito area with Ivan, wonderful guide for highlands & cloud forest.

Gorgeous estate with luxurious rooms We stayed here as part of our tour with Ecuador Birds Tour. If you're traveling through Ecuador on your own or on a tour, we recommend staying here. It was our favorite place to stay in the Quito area. It was a gorgeous estate with luxurious rooms. As for the food, it was delicious and the chef was happy to accommodate my dietary restrictions. The only thing we regret is not staying longer.

Beautiful hacienda We stayed one night at Hacienda Jimenita and it was excellent. The hacienda and grounds are beautiful. The food at the restaurant was also very good. The staff and owner were friendly. The prices are a bit on the high side but still a very pleasant stop.

Beautiful hacienda, wonderful stay! A beautiful, calming place to stay! We stayed at Hacienda Jimenita for 4 nights. Great communication leading up to our stay and they picked us up from the airport (about 15 min away). They took care in getting us a late evening meal and getting us set up in the grande suite. We were are a family of 4 and suite had lots of space for us, beautiful views, and beds were very comfortable. The staff is amazing-so kind, they want to make everyone feel welcome. Breakfast and dinners were delicious and made to order and the dining room and patio are nicely set up, you can also watch the many birds as you enjoy your meal. We explored the walking paths and the Inca tunnel and fed the llamas on the property. We also took 2 day trips from the hacienda-a tour of Cotopaxi volcano and a visit to La Mitad del Mundo. It was easy to set up an uber pick up to take us to local places. We would definitely return here for another visit!

Wonderful nature so close to the city What a lovely retreat. Great room. Great food. Great surroundings. Loved watching the humming birds. Just outside the main city but very convenient for the airport and not far from all the sights. We only stayed one night but could easily have been here longer.

Lovely weekend - highly recommend Jimenita! My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend at Jimenita and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to recharge their batteries and reconnect with nature. Its location within 20 min from the airport makes it for an excellent stopover. We heard the planes occasionally but didn’t find them bothersome. The service is outstanding, with great attention to detail. The place is not deluxe but rustic in a very nice way. It is super clean. Jimenita is run by solid, kind and competent people. Daniel, the owner, lives on premises. He was up waiting to welcome us in the middle of the night (our flight arrived at 1 am). The transfer from/to airport worked like a clock. We really enjoyed walking around the property on well-maintained paths and watching humming birds. There are nice benches and chairs to sit and relax while watching a great variety of birds. Speaking of birds, we also had a great time on the Condor Tour. Daniel took us to Antisana National Park with fantastic landscapes, volcanoes and condors. It was surprisingly cold there but Daniel thoughtfully brought warm jackets for us. He is a knowledgeable guide, caring host and an avid birder. The food at Jimenita was delicious and the setting very enjoyable, both outdoors and in the dining room with a fireplace. There is an Incan tunnel on the premises that you can explore. We really appreciated Jimenita’s mission to preserve its beautiful nature for future generations.
