Viajé a Quito a una reunión de negocios y recordé que hace algún tiempo visite Miskay por lo que sugerí ir a ése lugar y la verdad no me equivoque excelente la atención y el pollo tierno de corral estuvo magnífico gracias por su atención espero regresar pronto

Siamo stati a Quito nel nostro viaggio di 3 settimane per 4 sere e le ultime 2 volte abbiamo cenato al Miskay, un ristorante dove la qualità delle materie prime tipiche ecuadoriane, la bravura del cuoco nel reinterpretare piatti tipici aggiungendo qualche sapore nuovo, la gentilezza del personale che spiega ogni piatto ci ha conquistati. Consiglio vivamente questo locale che rimane un po' nascosto rispetto alla piazza Foch sulla quale si affaccia dal secondo piano, l'entrata si trova in Joaquin Pinto. Il proprietario inoltre ha regalato entrambe le volte a nostra figlia 2 spille artigianali. Se volete mangiare bene e sentirvi non solo dei turisti da sfamare, questo è il ristorante che fa per voi.

Estuve de visita a mi familia y me invitaron a cenar en Miskay me sorprendio q el lugar estuvo lleno de extranjeros; la comida buena me llamo la atencion la forma de presentar el cuy un sabor muy especial toda la comida sabrosa la atencion de la mesera muy bueno nos fue indicando cada plato lavista a la plaza unica cuando regresemos nuevamente sin dudar volveremos

I was born and grew up in Ecuador where I was spoiled with exotic local foods that came from all regions: highlands, coast and jungle. Ceviches, hornados, locros, encocados and so many more delicious dishes that became part of who I am as a chef.

At age 16 I moved to France with my family where I uncovered a whole world of gastronomic technique. For the next 10 years I studied, and worked and traveled all things culinary. From Europe, to the US, to Asia & the Nordics, my perspective is global.

Our tasting menu is my personal journey through childhood in Ecuador, coming of age in France and adulthood in the US. It’s truly Ecuadorian Born, Globally Inspired. I hope you enjoy!

We went to Achiote for our last meal in Quito before heading to the airport and it was amazing! The atmosphere is very nice and you can tell how much the family that owns the restaurant cares about their food. The food felt authentic and very fresh. The sangria was delicious with lots of fresh fruit. My wife had the sirloin and I had the lamb stew. Both dishes were plated beautifully and their use of sous vide is really smart because both were really tender. We also had a dessert trio and the chocolate cake was really good. The chef Andres shared some of his family’s history and even showed us the kitchen. We definitely recommend this spot for authentic, delicious Ecuadorian food!

Too good for words Wonderful is the only way to describe it. We had shrimp ceviche and an empanada made of plantain filled with veggies and shrimp. Both were just too good to describe. Our mains were the lamb stew. Nicely citrus flavored gravy. The chef told us they use a base of passion fruit. Served with beautifully prepared quinoa and a fresh salad of avocado mango and pickles. And a potato soup full of avocado in a creamy potato and cheesy soup. We were too full for dessert. While we are here for a week we will try and return. The Ecuadorian food experience is well worth it.

Amazing food, drinks, customer service and atmosphere The food was fantastic and so were the drinks and service. The atmosphere was perfect for a night out with friends. It’s a family run business. One of the owners (the son) came out from the kitchen to check and see that we were happy with our meals and to welcome us. The father is the bartender and he made sure we were happy with our drinks. It always makes me feel good to support family businesses, especially when the quality of the product and customer service is a step above other places.

Excellent Ecuadorian restaurant, great service So glad we decided to eat here our first day in Quito. We did because it had good reviews and we wanted to eat Ecuadorian food. We were greeted very nicely, dishes were explained to us and we ordered Empanada appetizers, coconut shrimp and a pork dish. Each dish came with authentic sides and everything was excellent. We told them we don't like cilantro and they were so diligent to keep it from us.The service was outstanding and prompt and nice. After we ate the owner came to speak with us and thanked us for dining there. He explained that the house belonged to his grandmother and had been renovated and we were in what was the backyard. It was so nice to hear this history and made the meal even more enjoyable.It was quiet when we ate tonight and it may be because it was early but I hope folk visiting Quito will try Achiote and enjoy it as much as we did.
